How would you describe your style?
Classic with an edge. And I love to accessorize, the more the better.
What’s the most treasured item in your wardrobe?
A Roberto Cavalli dress that my husband bought for me when we first started dating. And of course my Vera Wang wedding gown.
What is on your lust-list for Spring Summer 2012?
I’m really excited for summer and I’ve already started buying dresses in preparation. I’m feeling very ‘girly’ at the moment; I can’t wait to wear tailored mini-dresses with interesting pleats and detailing.
What item are you saving up for/lusting after?
We’re furnishing our home and on constantly on the look our for a vintage Louis Vuitton chest to use as a coffee table… I think I’ll be searching and saving forever!
Who is your style crush?
Hands down Olivia Palermo. I love how she incorporates interesting pieces and yet always manages to pull off a very polished look.
What’s in your make-up bag?
NARS primer, foundation, powder and eye shadows. Benefit brow kit [the best!] and Benefit They’re Real mascara. And a million different lip glosses.
Do you have a beauty secret?
I am obsessed with the KORA Organics Clay Mask – I apply it before I go to bed and leave it on all night. It completely detoxes and rehydrates my skin.
What’s your signature scent?
Depending on my mood either Chanel Chance or Calvin Klein Beauty.
How do you spend a typical Sunday?
Relaxing! Sunday is the one morning I wake up alarm free. Following that I like to go to yoga and then spend the day with family and friends, eating good food, reading magazines or watching a movie and just unwinding before the madness starts again on Monday.
What’s your idea of a great holiday?
Somewhere warm with fantastic food. I like to eat the local food, and explore away from the tourist areas.
What is your favorite city?
New York – I love the energy of the city and that around every corner there is something to discover.
Cats or Dogs?
Most definitely dogs, I have three and I adore them.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the fact that I believed in myself to take a risk, a leap of faith and start my own business. It was both exciting and completely terrifying, but I really believed in my idea and made it happen. I also refuse to ever give up on anything in life, if plan A doesn’t work move on to plan B, there is always a way.
What’s the best lesson you’ve learnt along the way?
Don’t be afraid to fail, we all do at some point so think of it as experience and learn from it. Trust your intuition and surround yourself with people who know more than you do – you can’t do everything so focus on the things you do well and delegate the rest.
Who/what inspires you?
I’m inspired by strong women. I love Diane von Furstenberg’s quote “I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I always knew the woman I wanted to be.”
What are you reading?
I’m reading By Invitation Only: How We Built Gilt and Change the Way Millions Shopand I’ve just finished the Fifty Shades of Grey series. Oh Mr. Grey!
What’s next for The Style Net?
We are just a few weeks away from launching our e-portal which will allow people to shop products from the stores in our directories on The Style Net website, and we are also working on our in-house accessory label which I am so excited about. It’s a dream come true.
